PETALING JAYA: It is now mandatory for all business premises to use the MySejahtera app, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Senior Minister (Security) said the regulation would be gazetted by the Attorney General Chambers soon.
“We have made the decision that every business premises must use the MySejahtera app.
“It is all right if they want to use other apps in addition to the MySejahtera App such as SELangkah. But they must have the MySejahtera app.
“However, exemptions will be given to premises in rural areas or small towns that do not have stable Internet connectivity – they are allowed to keep manual records, ” he added.
Ismail Sabri said only students from B40 families would be exempted from paying the quarantine costs.
“If the students have scholarships, the sponsors will have to pay for the quarantine costs.”
He urged those who are returning to Malaysia to register with the Foreign Ministry first before arriving.
“You can fill in the details such as your family’s income, and if you belong to the B40 group, the Foreign Ministry can alert the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
“When you arrive in Malaysia, Nadma would already have a list (of those in the B40 group), ” he added. The Senior Minister said the government was serious about people who failed to observe home quarantine rules.
“Health Ministry officials as well as the police will be conducting spot checks to ensure this group of people follow the SOP, ” he added.
On Sunday, police conducted 2,160 spot checks, and the number of people who had failed to adhere to the home quarantine rules were 51.
